This afternoon, at the Maritime Self-Defense Force's Shimousa Air Base in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture,
there was a problem where a P3C patrol aircraft deviated from the runway during landing and stopped.
This is a video taken at Shimousa Air Base.
A Maritime Self-Defense Force patrol aircraft is stopped
on the east side of the runway with its orientation turned approximately 90 degrees.
The nose of the aircraft is lowered, and a fire engine can also be seen near the aircraft.
According to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force,
a P3C patrol aircraft was attempting to land at Shimousa Air Base in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture
at around 4:15 p.m. when it veered off the runway and stopped.
As of now, there are no reports of injuries or fire outbreaks.
The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is investigating the cause of the accident.
Minister of Defense Kihara had ordered thorough safety management of all aircraft following the crash of a Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter on the 20th of last month.
